After She's Gone

When psychological profiler Hanne Lagerlind-Schön and her partner, investigator Peter Lindgren, are asked to go to the small, sleepy industrial town of Ormberg to investigate a cold case, they don't realise the dangers they will face. Ten years earlier a five-year-old girl's remains were found in a cairn near the town. No one every claimed her and she became a countrywide tragedy that still impacts on Ormberg today. With her dementia creeping back again, Hanne starts to keep a diary noting down everything she is likely to forget. She will go to any lengths to keep up appearances so she doesn't lose her job, or worse: Peter. Then Hanne is found wandering the woods of Ormberg lost, hurt and confused - and Peter is missing. When the body of a woman is found at the cairn and one of Hanne's shoes is found nearby covered in the victim's blood, the team must discover if this new murder connects to their old one - and, more importantly, they must find Peter? Can Hanne's diary hold the key to what happened? Praise for The Ice Beneath Her: 'Scandi-noir at its powerful bleakest' Daily Mail 'Deserves to be called a page-turner - I read it in one sitting!' Cecilia Ekbäck 'Captivating . . . deftly ensures readers' certainties stay on very thin ice' Sunday Mirror
