Analysis of VFSO System Integrated With BPLC

The new integrated system of visible free space optic and broadband powerline communication which uses already installed powerline cables and white LEDs as a communication channel is presented. The currently exist problems in integrated system degrades the whole system performance significantly. Therefore, in this work, an optimum OFDM modulating signal power, proper DC biasing point and LED dynamic range are presented for the integrated system. Besides using OFDM modulation a practical LED model is also presented and the performance of integrated system in terms of OFDM signal power versus BER in the presence of BPLC impulsive noise and multipath issue and also AWGN optical channel is studied. As another major contribution of this project, the radiometric parameters of white LEDs using simulation and experiment are reported. The experiments show a tolerable match with the simulated results. The new integrated system which is applied for indoor applications has the data rate more than 28Mbits/second with the bit error rates lower than . So the new integrated system can be considered as a good alternative for other indoor wireless system counterparts.
