Carbon Black

At the end of the decade, the international response to climate change has defaulted to a fragmented carbon market resulting in a heated battleground between militant anti-capitalist activists and private industry leaders. Emil Pfeffer, a director in the new UN body tasked with regulating the market, believes he is making a difference, but in reality, hes barely ventured outside his cocooned bureaucrats existence. During his official address at C-World, the biggest global carbon market conference of the year, an audience member resurrects a suspicious incident that Emil thought long since buried - the arrest of his colleague Davies whilst on assignment in Papau New Guinea (PNG). The resulting suspicions cast over his office, and subsequent death of the very same colleague, force Emil to wake up from his cosseted world and embark on his own unofficial and ultimately dangerous investigations into what really happened in the remote forests of PNG.
