Christopher G. Moore ist Erfinder der preisgekrönten Vincent-Calvino-Privatdetektiv-Romane (15 Bände bis jetzt) und Verfasser der »Land-of-Smiles«-Trilogie. In einem früheren Leben hat er Jura in Oxford studiert und an der University of British Columbia gelehrt. 1988 kam er nach Thailand. Jetzt, 25 Jahre, 23 Romane, einer Kurzgeschichtensammlung, drei Sachbücher und drei von ihm herausgegebenen Anthologien später ist er immer noch da und hat bei weiten noch nicht das reiche literarische Material, das Südostasien bietet, ausgeschöpft.
