Choreografischer Baukasten. Das Buch (3. Aufl.)

The 'Choreographic Toolbox' is a manual oriented towards contemporary choreographic practice. It was created in collaboration with internationally renowned choreographers who contributed experience from their own artistic projects. The toolbox presents a broad spectrum of contemporary choreographic working methods and is guided by the idea of creating spaces of opportunity for choreographic practice. The 'The Choreographic Toolbox: The Book' transfers the open modular system into a book format in combination with digitally retrievable materials. The book, now in its third edition, combines practice-oriented modules on the themes of 'generation', 'shaping', 'playing styles', 'collaboration' and 'composition' as well as an essay on contemporary choreography and interviews with Jonathan Burrows, Nik Haffner, Thomas Kampe, Martin Nachbar, Jochen Roller, Anna Huber and Hubert Machnik, which illustrate individual working styles in exemplary fashion. Together with the digitally retrievable practice maps, the 'Choreographic Toolbox: The Book' provides inspiration for experienced choreographers and dancers as well as all those involved with choreographic processes and productions in theatre, performance or therapeutic settings. But it also provides those who have had little experience with choreography with the tools for an experimental, playful approach to movement and dance.
