This text highlights the importance of analysing and evaluating conflict as tools for building understanding and developing effective conflict management strategies. A distinction is made between analysis, which is concerned with understanding the nature of conflict, and evaluation, which focuses on the judgement and management of conflict situations. Conflicts are an integral part of human interactions and arise for a variety of reasons, including personal, cultural, political and international differences. They can be emotional, intellectual or theoretical, with intellectual conflict being considered a form of cultural conflict.
