A series of short stories from the Great War that tell of courage, compassion, and self-sacrifice. Tales of the men of the Royal Navy, the airmen of the Royal Flying Corps, the soldiers fighting in the trenches on the front line, and the men and women of the Red Cross and other voluntary services who displayed supreme courage in the face of a hostile enemy.

The author has more than fifteen years experience of frontline emergency response, responding to a range of emergency incidents for both the fire and rescue, and ambulance services. He is also currently a lead instructor in the fields of road traffic collision and pre-hospital casualty care, creating training course content, as well as learning materials for a range of private and public sector organisations. Recently the author has been involved in research and development leading to new techniques for responding to road traffic collisions.
