Dark Secrets

Back in the day when it seemed the church held more sway than the government most of the institutions were run by the various orders of nuns, brothers and priests and therefore appeared to feel they were immune to the laws of the land when it came to ¿caring" for the children in their charge. Institutional abuse was rampant whether it be physical. emotional or sexual and offenders. if discovered. were merely moved to other parishes or institutions to continue their ways when indeed ANY action was taken against them. Dark Secrets chronicles the life of one of these "cared for" children and the life he was given (not lived, given). Martin was given up for care from birth to the day be was, to put it politely, ushered out the door when he became of age with nothing but his wits to guide him. This is his story.
