Das aufgeklärte Kind

The necessity of teaching children about the facts of life is not questioned any more at least since the 18th century. And yet, there is disagreement regarding the contents and pedagogical realization of this process. Through sexual education books for children and families of the FRG (1050-2010) and their constructions of child sexuality, Christin Sager reconstructs the shift of societal normative structures and pedagogical debates on child sexuality and the practice of sexual education: Which constructions of family and gender, sexual norms, images of diversity, and discourses on sexualized violence manifest in the sexual education books?

Christin Sager (Dr. phil.) ist wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Erziehungswissenschaft an der Stiftung Universität Hildesheim.
