Lisa de Leon is the result of a cloning experiment by her unlikely parent, a nun from the order of St. Mary in a predominantly multicultural section of East Los Angeles. Sister Beatrice cloned herself to prove that not only did a soul exist but that it also had a choice in choosing a human body, and it was its own being, governed by no other force but its own. The Vatican, however, has other ideas. It discovers Sister Beatrice's experiment and considers it a threat that could destroy its powerful influence on mankind.
