Twelve letters to a future pope make up this magnificent book in which Tomás Halík presents his reflections on the future of the Church in these turbulent times. A vision of Christianity that transcends limits, is open to other religions, welcomes people who seek spirituality outside of traditional religion and is co-responsible with the social and natural environment are some of the reflections present in this text. The Catholic Church must move from a narrow confessional form ("Catholicism") to an open "catholicity" (universality) and at the same time not lose, but understand its identity in a new and deeper way. To do this, the author resorts to the epistolary genre, addressing 12 letters to a future pope who appeared in his dreams, whom he calls Rafael. This name means "divine medicine" and with it, exchange reflections, hopes, fears, suggestions and questions about the current situation of the faith. In doing so, Halík prophetically unfolds his vision of a truly ecumenical, all-encompassing church of humanity, but at the same time able to read the signs of the times with courage and responsibility. With this book, Halík creates a confession of hope in times of global crisis in which it is urgent to awaken the therapeutic power of faith.
