This book is a gay erotic romance involving bdsm and race play. It follows the writers' law to write what we know, at least in interest if not experience. It is partly based on the opinion and feeling that black men are the most beautiful and sexy creatures on earth. Some of them are gay and some of those are subs and some of those are interested in race play as an important part of their role. It follows the main character Lamar from his childhood friendship with his later lover through adolescence and into adulthood. The main conflicts are whether Lamar will have a sub identity and ultimately whether he will have a lover relationship with Eric. It follows his sexual and romantic development by giving his experiences along the way from the perspectives of child, adolescent, and adult.
