Anyone who has an unusual hobby is vilified, despised, mobbed and excluded by his or her surroundings. The 15-year-old student and passionate hobby archaeologist can tell you a thing or two about this. Beatings, destruction of her work and bullying are part of her everyday life. Nevertheless, Erika is bubbling over with enthusiasm about the results of her work. How does everything change when the two worst despisers of all show interest in her work. They lure Erika into a completely new mystery in the shape of an ancient castle, about which there is no record, despite its proximity to the royal city of Dorphane.
Arndt Schmid, artist name Valsirion Scharona, was born in 1967 in Reutlingen / Germany. In 1977 he emigrated with his parents to Brazil and lived on the Amazon River. Very early he started writing his first novel, at that time still in school notebooks. For a few years he also tried his hand as a comic artist. In 1988 he returned to Austria. After his military service, he completed an apprenticeship in mechanical engineering and graduated as a control engineer. During his apprenticeship, he discovered a special love for unicorns and, as a direct consequence, for horses. Around 2002, he wrote the original script for his first novel in the series "In the Sign of the Black Unicorn", entitled "Sword Priest". A few years later he ventured with this the leap to the public. Professionally, he works as a process engineer in the development of plastics recycling in a leading global company.
