Evidence-based Therapy in Vascular Surgery

This book is an introduction to quality initiative for vascular surgery and medicine. Originally published in German, the book is written by leading experts who utilise their professional expertise and insight to help raise the level of patient safety, quality of care, and training of junior vascular physicians.

This books aims to bring together the best available current treatment and information, including recent guidelines, meta-analyses, and randomised trials to help put evidence-based therapeutic recommendations into practice.

Innovative therapeutic treatment options are not currently incorporated within standard procedure, and this book will help physicians include these methods and create more individualised treatment.

Eike Sebastian Debus is Professor and Chair of the Department of Vascular Medicine, University of Hamburg-Eppendorf, Germany. Sebastian Debus is the current Secretary General of the European Society for Vascular Surgery. He was President of the German Vascular Society 2013/2014. He chairs the Northern German Society of Surgery and is Secretary of the Northern German Society for Vascular Medicine. He was member of the presidium of the German Society of Surgery 2013/2014. He served as chief editor of the `Journal of Wound healing´ (2000-2005), Gefässchirurgie, Springer (2004-2013), founding Editor of GefäßmedizinScan (Thieme) since 2014 and is member of the editorial board of varios international journals. Reinhart T. Grundmann works currently as a medical expert in an independent position. He is at present consultant and coordinator of the DIGG, an institution of the German Society of Vascular Surgery. He is Professor of Surgery at the University of Cologne and has the qualification of general surgery and vascular surgery. He is the former medical director of the B.
