The forest is a multifactorial, multi-species, multifunctional structure existing in a pulsating habitat formed by the energy of the Sun, transformed, or rather mediated by the properties of planet Earth, its atmosphere and biosphere. Small imperceptible insignificant changes, if they are systematic, are gradually accumulated and make the processes of chemical, physical, electronic and other reactions, movement of substances and energy significant, which can be managed by the man as particularities, according to the logic of general regularities of natural and artificial phenomena. Man should not overestimate himself and his powers, relying on the general laws of nature. In this book, an attempt is made to connect man's perception of the forest as a natural and artificial formation with the development of human consciousness, human society, civilization, with urbanization, with the justification of the current importance of the forest for life and the prospects of human development on planet Earth.
