FTL Travel and Other Propulsion Systems

Traveling faster than the speed of light is a staple of space travel in science fiction. Whether it's jumping to hyperspace, engaging the warp drive, or opening a stargate, most stories about interstellar travel propose some hack to get from point A to point B faster than light. A famous proposition for global FTL travel is to use "worm holes", which are shortcuts through space-time, a sort of tunnel from one place in the universe to another, which would permit you to go from one end to the other in a shorter time than it would take light passing by the usual route. In this book, we outline the modes of FTL travel including warp travel and Alcubierre drive and also near-light speed propulsion which can permit us to reach for stars. With research and discussion there is hope interstellar travel will be achieved in the near future using some FTL travel method.
