Formulation and evaluation of polyherbal preparation against diabetes

The present study is undertaken to explore the effects of aqueous, alcoholic, chloroform and Petroleum ether extracts of Ficus bengalensis (FB), Emblica officinalis (EO), and Cumin and black (CN) on blood glucose levels in both normal and alloxan induced diabetic rats. Development and evaluations of tablet formulations showing significant activity and to compare these effects with glibenclamide Standard Marketed product. The maximum effect on blood glucose level was observed on 9th day of the treatment. The formulation F1 reduces the elevated blood, it may glucose level concluded that the F1 formulation (contains aeeoo; Eaeo, CEEO, peeoris, aecni, eecnm, CECN, pecnia) presence of combined effect of extracts of PB IT and CN might be responsible for antidiabetic activity.
