The concept of conscience has come under siege during the last few decades as a result of structural changes in the health care system. Starting with the pluralization of values in modern societies, a new debate has been launched about the place of conscientious objection in providing medical services. The volume approaches this problem from an interdisciplinary perspective and elucidates the diverse dimensions of decisions of conscience.
