Gravel Rides Peak District

Gravel Rides Peak District showcases 15 of the best gravel bike rides in the stunning Peak District National Park. From 18 to 107 kilometres in length and covering a variety of terrain, there is something for every gravel cyclist. Explore the fast-rolling, smooth gravel of disused railway lines on the High Peak Trail and Monsal Trail, traverse the breathtaking gritstone Eastern Edges on the edge of Sheffield, and discover unexpected gravel delights tucked away in the most unexpected places in the Dark and White Peak. Researched, ridden and written by Peak local Hetty Kingston, the routes feature clear and easy-to-use Ordnance Survey maps; easy-to-follow directions; details of distance, timings and difficulty gradings; stunning action photography; refreshment stops and local knowledge; and a detailed appendix. Also included is a link to downloadable GPX files.

Hetty Kingston is a keen outdoorswoman who thrives on adventure, endurance and being on her bike. Based in the Peak District, she finds just as much joy in local adventures as in scaling bigger mountains further afield. Whether it's heading out on long rides or exploring new routes, Hetty loves challenging herself and testing her limits, but also (importantly) balancing that out with keeping things fun and making sure there's a good cake stop. Recently, longer rides have been swapped for smaller outings towing a trailer after the arrival of her twins - a different kind of endurance test! When Hetty is not on her bike or looking at maps, she is passionate about improving the accessibility of the outdoors through her research and event organisation, Women in Adventure. She is also one of the founders of Peak Gravel Gang, a friendly bunch of gravel riders in the Peak and Sheffield. Her first book, Gravel Rides Peak District, fulfils a longstanding goal of writing a guide that shares her favourite routes with others. @hettykingston
