When the bark Alexandra from Norway was missed in the Pacific Ocean near Galapagos in 1907, Norwegian newspaper articles reported more thoroughly than many others about the archipelago.They told phantastic stories about palm groves and a south-sea paradise and claimed that thecountry still was not lacking in good old Viking spirit.
