Imagination und Animation

Imagination in conversations: This book explores a mental phenomenon from a conversation analytic perspective. It analyses sequences from interactions in which the speakers assume the roles of characters, animate what they say and put themselves in an imagined scene. Imagination is understood as conversational activity and mental phenomenon to establish a shared cognition. The study provides an important contribution to the topic of imagination and impressively combines the research fields of interactional linguistics and cognitive semantics.
