This book examines the influence of political ideology in Indonesia's political parties to address governance issues during the democratic era, 1998-2015. It investigates further the policy, agenda and strategies of three ideological parties in Yogyakarta Municipality in coping with public service issues. The three parties are the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), the National Mandate Party (PAN) and the Justice and Prosperous Party (PKS).
Dr. phil. Ridho Al-Hamdi, MA is a lecturer at the Department of Government Affairs and Administration, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), Indonesia. He earned his doctorate from the Department of Philosophy and Political Science at TU Dortmund University in 2017, where he was a recipient of the Indonesian government scholarship. His research interests are political parties, democracy, election, Islam and politics, good governance and political ideology.
