David Clark had a career as an English and history teacher. A battlefield historian, he has written several books on the subject of British battlefields including A Brief Guide to British Battlefields (Robinson 2015), covering over a hundred British battlefield sites. He has lived with his wife Alice in Lincolnshire since his retirement and was born and brought up across the River Humber, in Hull. His mother's family were Lincolnshire people, and his grandfather built the extension to Trinity Methodist Church in Barton-upon-Humber in 1905. His first Lincolnshire book was Second World War Airfields in Lincolnshire (Bretwalda Books 2015). David is a keen gardener and exhibits at agricultural shows.
