Körper und Migration

Whether someone is considered as belonging or »not from here« in the context of migration is often linked to the corporeal. But how do questions about the body, the migration experience, and attribution interrelate? This empirical-qualitative study examines the relationship between body and sociality, between perception and attribution of physical experiences with immigrants. Here, young women get a chance to speak in biographical interviews and present themselves in photographic self-portraits. By analyzing the body's staging in text and images, it becomes clear that physicality in the context of migration should be understood as a more flexible possibility space.
