The study of landscape may be summarized as the study of the relationships in space and in time between phenomena and processes in the landscape or geosphere including the community of plants, animals and men. The landscape has its own specific land forms, vegetation and also in many instances man made attributes. This term has strong connections with physiognomy which is used in particular for indicating the visual or architectual characteristics of a landscape.
