Life with the Lyons

When the Lyons were let loose the nation roared - with laughter! Starry Hollywood husband and wife Bebe Daniels and Ben Lyon set up home in England and gave radio one of the great domestic comedies. Throughout the '50s the ditzy Bebe and the laconic, wise-cracking Ben - plus their children Barbara and Richard - played themselves in a series of hilarious (and fictional) misadventures in which they were usually joined by Scots housekeeper Aggie and nosey neighbour Florrie. Here they are again in four classic slices of life, including the episode in which Ben and Bebe reflect on their first meeting (playing bridge with Charles Laughton and Gary Cooper at the Beverley Hills home of Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford) and the very last programme in the saga, 'Roaming Scandals' from 1961. Life with the Lyons was always frantic, furious and funny. Never a dull moment!2 CDs. 2 hrs approx.
