Thus providing the reader with an overview of the author's life and work. This edition is dedicated to the Polish-British writer Joseph Conrad, regarded as one of the greatest novelists to write in the English language. Though he did not speak English fluently until his twenties, he was a master prose stylist who brought a non-English sensibility into English literature. Conrad wrote stories and novels, many with a nautical setting, that depict trials of the human spirit in the midst of what he saw as an impassive, inscrutable universe. This book contains the following writings:Novels: Heart of darkness; Lord Jim; Nostromo; Typhoon.Short Stories: The idiots; An Outpost of progress; Amy Foster; Youth; An Anarchist; The secret sharer; The Return; The Brute; Because of dollars.Biographical: A Personal Record by Joseph Conrad; Joseph Conrad by Hugh Walpole. If you appreciate good literature, be sure to check out the other Tacet Books titles!
