Modularity in Language is the first systematic study of regularities in idiosyncratic complex clauses in Japanese and English. It establishes a general framework for the investigation of idiosyncrasies and exceptions in grammar in a multi-modular approach to grammar and in the process sheds light on the architecture of grammar.
