Personality traits plays an effective role in adjustment to modern life. Personality is not one specific attribute rather it is a quality of the person's total behavior. It may refer to the patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviors consistently exhibited by an individual over time. The belief that personality traits plays a role in alcohol use disorder ¿ which it may even be the major or sole cause has a long tradition. Alcohol use disorder includes many other alcohol related problems that interrupts so many facets of a person¿s life. The consequences of alcohol use disorder in impairment and harm to one¿s physiological and psychological wellbeing that affects one¿s overall working at home as well as workplace and subsequently, in interpersonal conflicts, social and legal problems. Alcohol use is widely spread in Indian society and subsequently results in frequent losses in the form of harmful physical, social, economic and psychological health outcomes. Thus, personality trait, sensation seeking and life satisfaction are the predictors of adjustment in alcoholics.
