Friedrich Schleiermacher (1768–1834) was extraordinarily effective when he preached from the pulpit. This volume reproduces the manuscripts of his sermons, beginning with his examination sermon in 1790 and extending to his assumption of the position of reformed preacher at Berlin’s Dreifaltigkeitskirche (Trinity Church) in 1808. The volume contains 364 draft sermons and 43 detailed transcripts of sermons or portions of sermons.
