Science Education in Secondary Schools

It is known that scientific competence in secondary school students plays a very important role, both in intellectual development and in its various applications for everyday life. However, 2015 PISA evaluation shows that the degree of competence in Science of Spanish secondary school students is low. Therefore, it is a matter of greater concern to know how the students are being trained in Science. The present study, developed into the framework of the European project PROFILES, tries to find the clues for improving the scientific training of secondary school students, in order the can achieve a better level of competence in Science.
