Severe Skin Diseases in Children

A textbook to guide practitioners on treating severe skin diseases in children, when they have failed topical therapy-- will discuss the appropriate candidates, considerations and approaches in drug therapy, possible problems that may arise. Photographs will help to illustrate the cases/conditions.

Wynnis L. Tom, MD, is Associate Clinical Professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Medicine at the University of California, San Diego and Rady Children's Hospital. She is a graduate of Stanford University and the University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine. After completing her training in dermatology at Saint Louis University, she returned to the San Diego area to pursue a fellowship in pediatric dermatology and has since been an active faculty member in the Division of Dermatology.  

 

Dr. Tom's clinical and research interests include chronic inflammatory skin conditions and the management of patients with more difficult disorders that require systemic medicines. She has been invited to speak on approaches to complex skin disorders at multiple venues, particularly addressing the pediatric perspective. She is a reviewer for several leading journals and has authored a number of journal articles, book chapters, and scientific works.
