Sjögren's Syndrome in Clinical Practice

Sjögren's syndrome is now considered pivotal in the spectrum of auto-immune disorders. It presents in a variety of guises, including fatigue, aches and pains, food and other allergies and not surprisingly is frequently misdiagnosed as, for example, 'fibromyalgia, 'M.E.', glandular fever etc. It also frequently overlaps with other auto-immune conditions such as hypothyroidism (Hashimotos), Hughes Syndrome and coeliac disease. Diagnosis is especially important as it usually responds to treatment, notably with quinine derivatives (Plaquenil).

All three authors have published extensively on the subject and lecture internationally on Sjögren's.
