Socio-economic status and prevalent risk factors among CKD patients

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is described by a progressive deterioration in renal functions with time characterized by irreversible structural damage to existing nephrons. Renal failure is a serious condition associated with premature mortality, reduce the quality of life and increase the expenditures of the health care. The socioeconomic status (SES) is an important determinant of health, nutritional status, mortality andmorbidity of an individual as well as family. SES also influences the accessibility, affordability, acceptability and actual utilization of available health facilities.
