Kaushik Kumar, B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering, REC (Now NIT), Warangal), MBA (Marketing, IGNOU) and Ph.D (Engineering, Jadavpur University), is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Birla Institute of Technology, India. He has 14 years of teaching & research and worked for a leading international manufacturer for over 11 years. His teaching and research interests include quality management systems, optimization, non-conventional machining, CAD / CAM, rapid prototyping and composites. He holds 9 Patents, and has published 28 books, 17 edited volumes, 48 book chapters, over 140 papers in international journals, and presented over 20 papers at national and international conferences. He is on the editorial board and review panel of 7 international and 1 national journals. He has received numerous awards and honors.
J. Paulo Davim received holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Porto (FEUP). He was also awarded a postdoctorate degree (Full Habilitation) from the University of Coimbra and a D.Sc. (Higher Doctorate) from London Metropolitan University. He is a Portuguese Institution of Engineers Senior Chartered Engineer with an MBA and specialist qualifications in engineering and industrial management as well as in metrology. He is also Eur Ing by FEANI-Brussels and a fellow (FIET) of IET London. Currently, he is a Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Aveiro, Portugal. He has more than 30 years of teaching and research experience in manufacturing, materials, mechanical and industrial engineering, with a special interest in machining & tribology. He is also has an interest in management, engineering education and higher education for sustainability. He has coordinated and participated in several funded research projects and has received several scientific awards and honors. He has evaluated projects for the ERC (European Research Council) and other international research agencies and served as a Ph.D. examiner for universities in various countries. He is the author (or co-author) of more than 10 books, 80 book chapters and 400 articles in journals and conferences, and he is the editor-in-chief, editor or guest editor of several international journals, books and book series, and a scientific advisor for various international journals and conferences. He is a member of the editorial boards of 30 international journals and is a reviewer for more than 100 prestigious Web of Science journals.
