According to a Food and Agriculture organization (FAO) 2017 report on the future of food; the world today is increasingly confronted by multidimensional challenges from drought, food shortages, diseases, and global climate changes to an ever-increasing global population. As they are associated with one another, it is seen that to address some of these challenges, the issue of food security has to be tackled. To this effect, the agriculture industry thus faces an enormous task of increasing food production in an equitable and sustainable manner.
