The ADHD Consultation Hour

The first edition of the 'ADHD Consultation Hour' (published in 2014 in German) emerged out of a need to provide the patients in my practice with a quick all-encompassing overview of the vast topic of adult ADHD. I considered it important to integrate, wherever possible, accompanying clinical pictures and therapeutic options such as medication and coaching strategies. All too often the underlying ADHD symptomatology lies hidden beneath subsequently developed disorders (such as obsessive rumination disorder, anxieties, panic attacks and addictions). Then mere childhood abnormalities such as being dreamy or physically agitated and impulsive can be indicative of the disorder. Patients and friends have been so kind, embellishing this book with their contributions, sketches, pictures and poems. The considerably expanded new version was then a response to the increasing needs and entitlements of my patients, as well as new respective knowledge about ADHD. New topics such as neurofeedback, a summary of medication, neurobiological aspects and autistic attendant phenomenon and more were granted space. Motivated again by my English-patients' requirements, I saw the need to bring out an English-language version of the book. I wish you many an 'A-HA' experience in reading this edition.
