The Corporeality of Clothing in Medieval Literature

Many recent publications on clothing have focused on the value of such details as they relate to historical practices of dress and fashion, or how clothing functions rhetorically within a text. This work takes as its focus the relationship between clothing and embodiment, and argues that clothing can articulate extraordinarily complex concepts related to particular bodies. For this reason, it adds to a growing field of scholarship, but brings a hitherto neglected facet of clothing studies to the fore of the discussion.
