The Effect of Singing on Vocabulary Recall. A Classroom Experiment

Bachelor Thesis from the year 2015 in the subject Didactics for the subject English - Pedagogy, Literature Studies, grade: 2,0, Bielefeld University, language: English, abstract: The purpose of this study is to find out whether music-based activities can lead to better vocabulary recall than conventional classroom activities in the English language classroom. Accordingly, the research question is: Will students recall more words when a text is rehearsed by means of singing rather than by conventional classroom activities? A second purpose is to find out how students perceive singing in the classroom and whether they are motivated by the incorporation of music.
