The German Arctic Expedition of 1869-1870

From 1869 to 1870 Karl Koldewey was captain of the Germania and the leader of the second German Arctic expedition to Greenland and to the Arctic Sea which intended to penetrate into the Arctic central region. The actual highlight and most considerable geographical achievement of the expedition was the discovery and investigation of the Kaiser-Franz-Joseph-Fjord. This book is a reprint of the famous original which was first published in 1874.
