The Glory of Christ is a book by the English theologian John Owen in which he deals with the theme of Jesus Christ's glory. Owen argues that the most important thing a believer should aim at is in fact the glory of Christ and that, through it he can justly change and become more spiritual. The first part of the book presents meditations and discourses on the Glory of Christ with the difference between faith and sight, while the second part presents the application of the foregoing meditations.
John Owen (1616-1683) was an English Nonconformist church leader, theologian, and academic administrator at the University of Oxford. Owen was a spirited defender monergism, emphasizing the sovereignty of God and the authority of the Bible. He believed in individual and distinct worship of each of the persons of the Trinity. Besides his academic and literary concerns, Owen was continually involved in affairs of state.
