The Strange Visitation

The Strange Visitation is a mystery tale set on the Christmas Eve in the mansion of well-known multi-millionaire Josiah McNason who receives an unusual and uninvited guest. It was a small uncanny creature, like an unpleasantly huge spider with a human head, small enough to curl itself up on the arm of an easy chair, yet large enough to create fear and repulsion in the mind of such a powerful man. The creature presented itself as Professor Goblin from Hell's United Empire Club, threatening to skin millionaire's soul. As the witching hour approaches, the Goblin grows wings and takes Josiah away on a life changing road trip somewhere between dreams and reality.

Marie Corelli (1855-1924) was an English novelist and mystic. She enjoyed a period of great literary success from the publication of her first novel in 1886 until World War I. Sales of Corelli's novels exceeded the combined sales of popular contemporaries, including Arthur Conan Doyle, H. G. Wells, and Rudyard Kipling. A recurring theme in Corelli's books is her attempt to reconcile Christianity with reincarnation, astral projection, and other mystical ideas.
