In addition to editing more than a dozen influential fiction anthologies, VanderMeer's nonfiction has appeared in the New York Times Book Review, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, and Miami Herald. He has worked with rock bands The Church and Murder by Death, as well as PlayStation Europe, on various projects and currently serves as the assistant director of the Shared Worlds teen writing workshop (Wofford College).
