Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2006 im Fachbereich Medien / Kommunikation - Film und Fernsehen, Note: 1,3, Universität Siegen (Fachbereich 3), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Hollywood has a sense of self-rejuvenation that has helped it survive for over a hundred years, through two world wars and against the competition of the television. In every threatening situation, Hollywood found a way to change and to implement new ways of storytelling. In this essay I will try to outline that the late 90ies and the early new millennium saw such a threatening and changing situation and that the new way of storytelling invented in this time, the cinema of distorted narration, aims at a revising and misinforming narrational structure that creates a new spectacular sensation using the viewer¿s knowledge of Hollywood against himself. Themes of this essay span from Luis Bunuel's Un Chien Andalou to asian cinema, gaming narration and the cinema of distorted narration with examples such as Memento, 12 Monkeys, Fight Club and The Sixth Sense.
