Saadat Hasan Manto translated Oscar Wilde's famous and popular play "Veera" which was a tragedy that takes place in Russia and is partially based on Vera Zasulich's life. Manto's Urdu translation was published in 1934. The publication of Oscar Wilde's play on the subject of the Russian Revolution created an uproar in its time.
