Voices Against Sex Slavery in America: Perspectives on Fighting Sex Trafficking

An estimated 45.8 million people are enslaved in the world today. Although many have heard about human trafficking abroad, not many Americans are aware that sex slavery is a threat here in the United States. Our goal is to break the myth that sex trafficking is a foreign issue. It occurs right here in America, and Voices Against Sex Slavery in America points to different ways we can combat this illicit trade. We collected perspectives from survivors, family members of survivors, abuse counselors, law enforcement, policy makers, and scholars in order to effectively portray the scope of sex trafficking and how we can reach a solution. This book gives a very holistic version of what sex trafficking looks like in America and what we can do to end modern slavery. We want to encourage a multi-stakeholder approach to fighting sex slavery, where all these stakeholders unite their expertise to help as many survivors as possible.
