When You're Left Behind

When You're Left Behind, tells of when I was a young girl forced to find my own way through the chaos that surrounded me. From the start, I was told that my Dad was changed by the war in Korea. After being sexually abused by my Father at the tender age of four, I found very early that the social and educational systems would fail me, forcing me to live much of my life without a home. In the early 70's, despite living on the street, my Mother and I were turned down from receiving welfare. If not for the charity of a benevolent black family, that heard our plight, we would have been left out in the cold. An ancient fortune teller predicted disaster and on top of this a mysterious connection to Elvis haunted me. A catastrophic accident left my Mother in a coma, leaving me held captive and enslaved in the clutches of an embittered half-uncle.
