Workshift is a blueprint for organizations transitioning into the virtual workplace, where employees are always connected, and work is no longer a destination. This book provides practical lessons on why (and how) some companies are further ahead, and actionable steps to realize the potential of the virtual workplace.
Jason M. Morwick is a full-time teleworker and writer who writes about teleworking, leading in the virtual workplace, and business-process improvement. He is co-author of the book Making Telework Work: Leading People and Leveraging Technology for High-Impact Results (Nicholas Brealey Publishing, 2009), a guide for managers and leaders on creating a case for telework and managing teleworkers. He has published in journals, magazines, and websites such as Quality Progress, Review of Business, Business Journal, Strategic HR Review, American Business Review, iSixSigma Magazine, and isixsigma.com. Jason is also the co-author of Gridiron Leadership: Winning Strategies and Breakthrough Tactics (Praeger, 2009) and contributing author to Six Sigma Software Quality Improvement (McGraw-Hill, 2011).
Robyn Bews is the creator, curator, and chief strategist of WORKshift, an initiative of Calgary Economic Development. As a result of Robyn's leadership, advocacy, and management, WORKshift has grown from Canada's first regional telework initiative to the de facto brand for all things related to flexible work in Canada.
Emily A. Klein is the founder of Flextime Global, LLC, a consulting and training business that helps organizations achieve success by implementing strategic workplace flexibility programs, strengthening virtual workplaces, and building high performing teams. As an accomplished strategy consultant, facilitator, and leader, Emily has worked with organizations across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, including: the U.S. Army Medical Command, the Department of Education, the Department of Justice, Department of Veterans Affairs, the Defense Information Systems Agency, AT&T, and the Women's President's Association.
Tim Lorman brings 14 years of experience to assignments in alternative-workplace program design and implementation strategies, corporate work environment design and management, alternative workplace strategies, and space utilization data analysis. Tim is currently the Program Manager, Workplace and Facility Management Technology Implementation Solutions at Serco-NA.
