Gender in Equity Investment - Investors Perception and Pattern

The present work is to enquire whether gender plays a significant role in investment decision also to know the trading behavior of the Indian investors. Mostly it is believed that men and women are different in their mentality when it comes to investment and trading pattern. Men differ in their behavior when compared to women. Men are less risk-averse and do more investments which involve high risk also. But in case of women they are more risk averse and do not venture readily to take up risky investments. Basically women do not come forward to do investments while men do lot of investments. Thus investors behave differently when it comes to investment decision and risk taking. Hence there is a need to validate the general belief that men and women differ in their investment behavior.
