History of Elections in Kosovo

Document from the year 2023 in the subject Didactics - Politics, Political Education, grade: 1, , course: POLITICS, language: English, abstract: After the war in Kosovo and the arrival of the International Mission - UNMIK based on UNSC Resolution 1244, his mission and all other international mechanisms, including the OSCE, were substantially committed to organizing the Kosovar society from the point of view of the beginning of the functioning of civic and institutional life, after 1999. Kosovo did not have any established institutions that would facilitate normal development of life in Kosovo. The population of Kosovo was scattered around the world, and citizens of Kosovo were progressively returning to Kosovo, the role of the UN Mission was more or less challenging, the functional organization of UNMIK was experienced and UNMIK was assisted by the OSCE, the Council of Europe. In the absence of institutional quorum, the temporary government of Kosovo had appointed temporary mayors of the municipalities in Kosovo. This government was transformed in December 1999, UNMIK established the temporary PISG departments, the political parties had appointed representatives in these departments (PDK, LDK, LBD) up to the organization of elections at both levels.

Blerim Burjani :Blerim Burjani was born in Pristina, in capital city of state of Kosovo. Primary and secondary school finish at his birthplace. Law Faculty in the University of Pristina general direction . Magistrates studies at the Law Faculty of the University of Pristina. PhDc Until now hold a series of public functions such is Political Adviser to the Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, Political Advisor in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Representatives of the Government of Kosovo in CEFTA, the former member of the CEC. Blerim has experience 19 years in high education as a lecturor professor at the Business College, was a professor in the College and University of Pristina ,College 'Dardania' and 'FAMA'. In public opinion is known as an expert in development policies and political analyst and executive director of the Kosovo Institute for Development Policy. He has worked for a range of local and international organizations as follows: Council of Europe, KIPA, Human Dynamic in Vienna (Austria), B & S Strategy in Europe, World Bank, UNDP,USAID/RIINVEST, ECMI. He speaks and writes in two international languages: English and Spanish. He lives in Pristina.
